Why Us:

We want to make a difference. We want to fight for you. We want to leave LMU knowing that it’s an even better institution than when we arrived.

We have the experience and the personality that is necessary for the jobs of president and vice president of ASLMU.

Steve Murphy made his name through his popular weekly column in the Loyolan, “Murphy’s Law.” While he sometimes wrote about inane topics such as the origin of the phrase “How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?”, he often tackled serious student concerns and achieved real results. He is responsible for replacing what were ineffective fire horns in the Tenderich apartments and for dramatically extending C-Lion’s hours. He has worked with and gained the respect of various administrators—an essential attribute if you want your student leader to actually make a difference while in office. By the end of his time as editor in chief of the newspaper, the Loyolan was recognized with several national distinctions for the first time in recent memory. Steve has proven that he can lead a large staff, develop a responsible budget, and hold school administrators accountable.

Seranda Bray has probably said hi to you or at least flashed you one of her patented smiles while whizzing by on her skateboard. As a student worker, she values her education and strives to get the most out of it. That’s why she has become so active in the LMU community, serving in CLC, ASLMU Judiciary, BSU, NAL and Delta Zeta. ASLMU needs someone who can go in and create a welcoming environment, and Seranda is more than up for the challenge. She will continue to reach out to students, to listen to their concerns, and to work on improving LMU one thing at a time.
